MOTHERS DAY
The Argentinian Social and Cultural Centre, thanks all the people that assisted to our Mothers Day party held at South Junior Bowling Club, it was a spectacular evening where public assistance exceed all our expectations.Thank You and we would like to see you again at the celebration of the Argentine Independence Day on the 11th of July of 2009.

Today, members of the committee went to Sydney Parliament House, to the presentation of the movie 'Graphic Memory of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo', a documentary that shows the triumphant moment in which several families recovered their stolen children.

It was a strong documentary about the reality lived in our country during the 1970's..

The Argentinian family the Zapps have been touring around the world in a 1928 vintage car
and are now currently in Australia.
They have been recently featured in the Daily Telegraph and have made headlines all over the world.
They will be in Sydney until the end of April/ beginning of May.

Yesterday the presentation night and Christmas party was held at Burwood RSL Club.
The night was marvelous; the full room, the great performers, and the people-filled dance floor, all tell a tale of the happy times lived by everyone that attended.

The Cultural Centre of Tango from Northern Buenos Aires, Argentina, held a literary competition of tales and poems where several writers from the city of Sydney belonging to the Literary Group “Palabras” entered. Mrs. Julia Bugallo, Mrs. Norma Delgado and Mr. Gilberto were all awarded prizes in the poems category.

On Sunday 2nd of December at theBankstown Velodrome, there was an international Cycling competition. A team from Argentina competed there on their way to China. They will be back on the 11/12 and return to Argentina on the 13/12.

The names of the Cyclists are:

José F. Antogna, Leandro H. Botasso, Juan E. Curuchet, Walter F.Pérez

The event was attended by  Mr. Pedro Colombi, Consul General of Argentina in Sydney and representatives of the Argentinian Social and Cultural Centre; Norma and Francisco Delgado, and Liliana and Julio Fernandez
